What to Expect

Each journey provides a different experience to the traveler and is incredibly magical

Explore far from the beaten track and city streets, hike by rugged, unpaved roads; over rough, steep, and sometimes slippery paths without handrails with amazing views of peaks, lakes, unique countrysides; and climb many high and uneven stone steps at Inca sites.


Discounts apply to anyone who has a valid STUDENT CARD at the time of the journey  (Students must be under 25 years of age)  or who is 17-years-old or younger. The discount is $25 USD per person.


To Book

To book a tour you need to enter in contact with our consulters and make an initial payment of $ 400 USD per person, the remaining balance can be paid online in full or installments up to 30 days prior to start date, or in cash on our office upon your arrival. Also, we are going to require a scanned copy of your passport.

Itinerary: Salkantay Imperial Trek 10 Days

Day 1Arrive to Cusco

At the airport our personal wait for you to transport to your chosen hotel. The rest of the day is free to acclimatize.

Day 2Cusco archaeological city tour

Today in the morning, we do not have any program activities. In the afternoon at 13th00, we will start the Cusco city tour, On this trip we will visit the Cusco cathedral; inside you can see works, that were made in wood and covered with gold, this kind of works were made by Spanish with baroque style.

After that, we will continue to the Koricancha temple knowing as Sun Temple, where build over a Santo Domingo church. Then we will leave the city with direction to the four Archaeological Sites like Sacsayhuaman place where people commemorate the Inti Raymi (Festival of the sun, the best-known party in the country), Qenqo, Pukapucara and Tambomachay (Famous Inca Baths). The finish of the trip is when we are in the hotel around 18th30

Day 3Sacred Valley to Aguas Calientes village

At 8th00 hours in the morning is the departure to the famous Vilcanota river valley most knowing like Sacred Valley of the Incas. On the way, we will stop in some places to see beautiful landscapes and mountains. We visit an archeological site called Pisac, that has the biggest Inca terraces that people used for agriculture, and we will visit the traditional market where you have free time to walk and interact with native people of the place or you can buy some gifts that were made by hand made.

We continue until Urubamba town to have our lunch that is a buffet in a local restaurant after this we will visit Ollantaytambo Inca town that has spectacular water channels inside the street and this town has a street made by stone with Inca characteristic. Finally, on the way back to Cusco we stop in Chinchero town, where we visit the archeological site and the beautiful colonial church. You will admire the well-preserved Inca wall in the main square.

Day 4Salkantay Trail

We are going to pick up early from the hotel; our transport will be passing by the hotel at around 5:00 a.m. to 5:30 am to go to the traditional village of Mollepata (2950 m) where we have the breakfast. Since Mollepata we are going to continue our trip to Soraypampa. here start our hike by short hill until Humantay lake, then we will continue for another hill until reach to Salkantaypampa, In this place, we will have our lunch. After lunch, we are trekking to a beautiful hill until our campsite in Suyrucocha with incredible landscapes of the Salkantay peak.

Day 5Salkantay Trail

After breakfast, we will start our Salkantay Trek ascending to Salkantay pass, just above 4630 meters, At this point, we can see the glaciers of Salkantay and other mountains if we are lucky we can see probably snow slide. after this we are going to descend to Huayracmachaysite where we have our lunch with a short break, then we are trekking to Chaullay (2920 m.s.n.m) for dinner and overnight. Transfer from hotel to airport in a Schedule that we will coordinate.

Day 6Salkantay Trail

Our Salkantay Imperial Trek 10 Days activity will begin at 6:00 am, this day we are going to walk for 7 hours approximately to arrive at Playa, On the trail we will see waterfalls, fruit trees, a flora variety, the coca plantations, varieties of orchids and birds, if we are lucky we’ll see the famous cock rock. we are going to have lunch in the La Playa site. Then we are going to take a car from Playa to Santa Teresa campsite. When we arrive at Santa Teresa, where we can go to hot springs to enjoy it.

Day 7Salkantay Trail

After breakfast, today we will begin the final stretch of the Salkantay trek. at around 6:00 am We will take local transportation to Lucmabamba (40 minutes ride) where we start our Trekking to Llactapata archeological site. On the way, we will see coffee plantations, beautiful landscapes as well as diverse flora and fauna. After three hours of walking, we will arrive at Llactapata where we can see an amazing view of Machu Picchu Inca citadel. Here you will have time to rest and enjoy the scenery. After this activity, we start to descend to Hydroelectric where we have our lunch.

Finally, we will start the last part of the trek approximately 3 hours to Aguas Calientes Town, when we arrive at the town, will be accommodated in the hotel (included on this package). At night, we will enjoy dinner at a local restaurant around 7:30 p.m approximately.

Note: This day we will be flexible, if you do not want to hike more, we will catch the traditional route to Aguas Calientes who is easier than Llactapata.

Traditional Route: Approximately around 8:30 am, we will trek to the Hidroelectrica site to our last lunch and from here, we can observe the back of Machu Picchu sanctuary. From here, we will continue walking until arriving at Aguas Calientes village around 4:30 pm; here we will spend the night in a touristic hotel included in the program. At night, we will enjoy dinner at a local restaurant around 6:30 p.m approximately.

Day 8 Visit Machu Picchu & return to Cusco

Today to have a perfect visit to Machu Picchu, we have to leave early (5 am approximate), we will have breakfast at the hotel and then we take the bus from Aguas Calientes to Machu Picchu (2400 m). At the archeological site, we will enjoy a guided tour of the most interesting sections of this site. We will see the Intihuatana, the temple of the three windows, the temple of the moon, the terraces, ceremonial fountains, the gateway of the sun, and other sectors of this impressive site. In the afternoon, a bus wait for us to take us back down to Aguas Calientes, at night we will board the train to Ollantaytambo, In Ollantaytambo, our staff waits for you to come back to the hotel of Cusco.

Day 9Maras Moray & Salt mines

Around 9:00 am after breakfast we will depart towards the northwest of the Cusco city, on the route we will observe impressive landscapes such as Mountains, and agricultural areas that form part of the attraction.

The first village that we will visit is Maras, During the colonial period had its importance for the large Jesuit community installed there, you can appreciate the beauty of its carved wooden doors that belonged to the priests.

We will then continue towards the archaeological center of Moray, where we can see the magnificent agricultural Inca laboratory, formed by four amphitheaters, circular stones overlaid to a depth of approximately 150 meters.

Then we’ll visit Salineras, a point from which salt is extracted since the Inca times as a means of economic exchange, people continue to exploit this and it is also an important tourist destination because of its huge wells of Salt
Finally, we will get back to Cusco.

Day 10Departure from Cusco

Today, we will take you to the airport for your flight back home or to your next destination. If you want to extend your journey to another destination in Peru we can organize it.

For any Trek, you need sleeping bag. We recommend a warm sleeping bags for a low temperature as -15C. Air mattresses and trekking poles are optional but recommended. If you don’t have or want to bring all these items, we have for rent.
